Social Development for Change (SDC)

Social Development for Change (SDC) is a registered non-governmental organization founded in 2019 bearing the number 4600 to provide a range of services in Health, Education, Livelihood, Environment and Good Governance. 

SDC is looking for qualified and competent applicants for the position of   Program Officer 

Objective:

The Program Officer has the overall responsibility of designing, planning, implementation, coordination and reporting of all project activities. She/he leads the development and planning of new projects. The Program Officer will also be responsible for liaising with relevant stakeholders, donors and local authorities to ensure smooth relationship.

The Program Officer works under the direct supervision of the Executive Director.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Plan, coordinate, implement and monitor operations of the organization
  • Prepare and submit annual, biannual and quarterly plans as per established schedules to all stakeholders
  • Design projects, identify program gaps and develop concept papers
  • Ensures that all projects activities are implemented as planned
  • Establish strong linkage with key sector coordination, NGOs, UN agencies, government counterparts and local actors at the national, regional and local level.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Report to: Executive Director

Required: 1 (One)

Duration of contract : Six Months with possible extension based on performance & resource availability

EDUCATION/TRAINING

  • MA/MSC or BA/ BSC in Development, Social Sciences or related field of studies.

 EXPERIENCE

  • 2 years and above of relevant and proven work experience
  • Managing projects at NGO environment is desirable

TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS

  •  Proficiency in verbal and written English, proposal development, strategic and operational planning, monitoring and evaluation, report writing;
  • Proficiency in standard office software package
