The ICT Head is responsible for all tasks related to the installation, maintenance and management of the School computer network to meet the needs of curriculum and administrative tasks. He/She ensures the network is consistently available and operating effectively during school hours and employs the necessary back-up procedures. He/She performs regular maintenance procedures and makes sure the necessary security measures are taken. The ICT Head  is responsible for managing the communications, workstations and servers of the school computer network. He/She makes sure all software is licensed and updated to meet the needs of the school. 

Specific Tasks

 ● Manage the school ICT Assistant including training and appraisal procedures.

 ● Contribute to the overall aims and targets of the school. Take initiative to establish constructive relationships with other agencies in communication with teaching staff. Appreciate and support the roles of other members of business support and attend and participate in relevant meetings as required.

● Be aware of and take part in the school performance management and participate in training and development activities as required.

 ● Set up, manage and maintain school operational and educational systems.

● Maintain and develop school website in line with Communications.

● Manage student and staff email accounts.

 ● Set up and manage the school network infrastructure, servers and workstations.

● Provide advice on networking, purchasing and any relevant contractors to the Head of School and General Manager.

● Provide new network and server solutions to meet local and international needs including data protection and security.

● Develop, implement and monitor school practices for data protection, internet use, e-mail, security and ICT resource management.

● Ensure that the network is operational during access hours and appropriate back-up protocols are implemented.

● Responsible for managing a regular ICT maintenance programme and resolving failures in hardware and software.

● Creating and maintaining a school wide ICT hardware audit

● Maintenance and configuration of servers, storage network and virtualization

● Maintenance and configuration of laptops for staff use.

● Ensuring tasks are implemented with necessary training and follow up

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure and services.
  • Experience with computer networks, network administration, and network installation preferably in school setup.
