Company Overview

Kadisco Paint and Adhesive Industry SC previously known as Kadisco Chemical Industry Plc is a privately owned company located in Addis Ababa in the Akaki Kality Industrial Zone area. Kadisco is a company that traces its origins back from a small automotive parts dealership that was operating in one of the busy streets of Addis Ababa back in late 60’s. During the period until 1975 it had the opportunity to act as the sole distributor for Sadoline Paints. In 1979 it was registered as the sole company to manufacture adhesives and glue. By stages, the company developed into a diversified paint manufacturer.

In February 2015, Asian Paints Ltd and Kadisco Paint and Adhesive Industry SC formed a joint venture for business in Ethiopia and came to be known as Kadisco Asian paints. Asian Paints is India’s leading paint company and Asia’s second largest, with a group turnover of USD 2.7 billion. The group has an enviable reputation in the corporate world for professionalism, fast track growth, and building shareholder equity. Asian Paints operates in 19 countries and has 26 paint manufacturing facilities in the world servicing consumers in over 65 countries.

Today the company produces a full range of paints for the construction, industrial and automotive sectors. It also produces wood and concrete lacquers as well as adhesives for the wood and leather industry.

Position Summary 

The Human Resources Manager is responsible to to lead on and manage all aspects of Human Resources within the company. He / She should be able to manage and oversee the implementation and compliance Human Resources policies, procedures, and systems. Provide expertise, support, and advice in the various Human Resources functions, which include recruitment, staffing, performance management, Employment Law and employee relations, Employee engagement and talent management.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Employee Relations:

  • Responsible for handling employee relations, employee engagements, grievances
  • Ensure up to date Labour Laws are being followed, with regular contract updates
  • Engage with Campuses and Manage Campus Hiring for the organization
  • Develop recruitment process, policy and guidelines and ensure service delivery excellence.
  • Actively review and revise the process, tools, templates and guidelines aligned to Recruitment and HR strategy and stakeholder feedback
  • Development and execution of effective attraction, sourcing & selection strategies to deliver top-quality talent and meet hiring plans in a timely and consistent manner
  • Proactively meet potential future candidates to create an external talent pool for future workforce needs
  • Leverage the IJP process and work closely with the Group to identify opportunities for internal candidates to promote talent mobility and retention of key talent
  • Ensure the maintenance of a candidate database to meet current and future recruitment needs based on business objectives
  • Maintain updated job descriptions with role requirements and complete information to provide necessary details for job evaluation process

Employee Life Cycle:

  • Manage the day-to-day HR operations across the organization including employee contracts, visa processing
  • overseeing the payroll responsibility with the HR Payroll Officer, expenses, annual leave, etc.
  • level of customer service and maintaining quality throughout the process.
  • Ensure smooth offboarding (separation formalities) and exit interviews
  • Ensure adherence of HR policies and procedures by all employees across the organization and Support Employees with HR related queries
  • Manage the HRMS (SuccessFactors)
  • Ensures accuracy of database of staff records and personal file information which should be consistently updated

Employee Experience:

  • Consciously work to ensure that the candidate experience is positive
  • Take on the responsibility of establishing a healthy and vibrant work culture across the organization
  • Support on development and implementation of engagement and recognition programs for office employees.
  • Deliver a superior onboarding experience for new hires at Concept, by providing high
  • Support Central/ Global HR Projects:
  • Contribute to development and implementation of process, policy and programs aligned to Talent Management strategy.
  • Ensure timely execution and monitor outcome of Talent Management and learning programs through defined metrics.

Reporting to: General Manager

Functional Relationships: Department Managers

Qualification and Experience Requirements                    
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized educational center. A master’s degree in HR or a relevant discipline is preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, and post qualification experience of handling managerial roles in multinational companies. Prior Knowledge in HR Systems is an asset.
  • Manufacturing and Multinational industry experience are required.

  • Should have good command in English (Oral & Written).

  • Proficient in MS word, MS excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook
  • Able to work under pressure and complete the task within a preset time-frame.
  • Good inter-personal & communication skills.
