The Environment and Coffee Forest Forum (ECFF) is a local, non-political, non-religious and not-for profit civil society organization licensed and registered in Ethiopia. The vision of ECFF is a healthy and prosperous society that values, conserves and sustainably uses nature. Our mission is to reverse degradation of natural environment, and support societies and government partners to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature, by conserving biodiversity, promoting sustainable and equitable use of renewable natural resources. ECFF’s main role is implementing forest management, agroforestry, conservation and integrated climate smart landscape management through community participation and capacity development.
ECFF is a member of Farm Africa led consortium that implements Sida financed “Majang Project. We are hiring skilled and capable experts for Godere and Mengeshi woredas of Majang zone, Gambella Peoples National Regional State.
Description of the position:
The Woreda Development Facilitator will facilitate forest-based sustainable livelihoods development, biodiversity assessment field missions, and contribute to the overall project implementation as part of the project team with other consortium members. The position requires strong skills in community and other stakeholders’ engagement, and team and partnership building that positively contributes to the overall implementation of the project that integrates agriculture, forested landscapes management and livelihoods.

Duty Station: Meti (Godere) and Godere Mission (Mengeshi woreda)
Qualification and experience:
- M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Forestry, Natural Resource Management or Coffee Agronomy;
- For B, Sc. degree + 8 years; for M.Sc. degree + 6 years relevant work experience.
- Practical knowledge of community mobilization;
- Experience of working in the project woredas with a multi-disciplinary team of practitioners;
- Experience of working with NGOs and private-sector agencies.
Skills and competencies
Required skills include: motorcycle driving license, and experience of use; community consultation and PRA skills; report writing skills in English, especially result-based reporting; fast learner and willingness to deliver results on time; ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines; good team spirit, skill sets to connect with the community, partners & project staff; ability and willingness to travel to the project kebeles and target villages.
Language: Proficiency in English and Amharic. Knowledge of the local language (Majang) is an advantage.
