With funding from bilateral and multilateral donors, DRC is currently implementing a range of activities across Ethiopia and Djibouti, including WASH and shelter provision, child and youth protection, gender-based violence response, awareness-raising of migration risks, protection monitoring of migration routes, and livelihoods support for returning migrants or those at-risk of migration.
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
This role has a country focus and ensures compliance to DRC procedures and guidelines within the country. The role contributes to the development of country strategies, which are translated into action plans and day-to-day tasks. The role provides support and/or technical guidance to country operations while overseeing country activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support and Administration:
- Ensuring all the procurement processes are in line with DRC Operations Handbook
- Effective and efficient support to programs’ needs.
- Develop and maintain the relevant database.
- Maintaining the procurement follow-up process
- Weekly and monthly status reports
- Warehouse management, including reporting and alert mechanism to program staff.
- Assist in recruitment, training and capacity, the building of the logistics team
- Coordination of programme staff to ensure logistics involved in the whole programme cycle
- Procurement of all goods and services
- Establish and follow up on annual procurement plans
- Track all orders, purchases, and deliveries
- Ensure that all logistics-specific donor rules and policies are understood and respected
- Oversight of all purchase and service contracts to ensure DRC’s interests are protected
- Vehicle fleet management
- Optimize all logistics operations to increase cost-effectiveness including setting up longer-term supply contracts
- Fixed asset management
- Ensure DRC supplier due diligence is effective in the relevant context

Experience and technical competencies: (include years of experience)
- 4 years experience for Diploma or above 2-year experience for BA holders
- High integrity, pro-active, stable, robust character, and a good team-player
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
- Experience in working in NGOs
- Proven commitment to accountability practices.
- Knowledge of computers: word processing, database management packages.
EDUCATION: (include certificates, licenses, etc.)
- BA BM, Supplies Management, or other relevant business fields.
LANGUAGE: (indicate fluency level)
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
