The Role
Under the supervision of Procurement and Facilities Supervisor, the Store and Inventory Management Specialist supports the overall administration of store and inventory of SDE. The incumbent applies stock control principles and makes sure essential stock items are always available. Uses stock and non-expendable assets management tools.
Identifies non-functioning non-expendable assets and ensuring that they are timely repaired, replaced and/or disposed following SDE’s and the regulatory agency’s rules and regulations. Participating in receiving, storing, issuing, and delivering of medical supplies, reagents, medical equipment and other goods and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages store in compliance with national and SDE policies and procedure
- Standardizes and setup layout of stores and ensure efficient space utilization
- Establishes proper stock codes for all SDE supplies/stocks
- Establishes stock control measures and maintain, minimum, maximum and reorder levels stock-levels for major supplies and ensures that the stock levels are always kept at the optimum level
- Tracks close to expire stock, obsolete and slow moving (calculates stock turnover ratios) items in store to minimize stock carrying costs.
- Follows the movement of stock and suggest slow moving and overstocked items to be effectively used/consumed.
- Analyses and interpret stock KPIs and recommend a solution where there is gap or a problem
- Regularly identifies non-functional non-expendable assets and ensures that they are timely repaired, replaced and/or disposed following SDE and regulatory agencies rules and regulations
- Establishes proper store management and administration systems and ensure that the established systems are implemented
- Develops and maintains asset register for all non-expendable asset that includes model, serial number, asset code, location, custodian, status/condition etc.
- Develops asset needs assessment, maintenance and disposal plans and monitor the implementation of maintenance and disposal plans

Skills and Experience (essential/ desirable)
- BA with 2 years of experience 2 years of experience (essential)
- Technical qualification in an appropriate field (essential)
- The qualification is either Business Management, Supply and Procurement or any relevant field (essential)
- Relevant Certification (desirable)
- Relevant Trainings (desirable)
