Background

EOC-DICAC is a recognized & licensed non-profit charitable local NGO working for the benefit of vulnerable communities in Ethiopia to attain self-reliance by tackling the root causes of poverty, migration, climate change, public health and illiteracy problems by promoting sustainable development programs. Accordingly, since 1972, EOC-DICAC has been engaged in various types of multi-sectoral development and humanitarian interventions all over the country. Therefore, EOC-DICAC would like to invite dynamic and creative applicant for the following vacant post. 

Job Summary:

The Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer shall be answerable to the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Department of EOC-DICAC. The Monitoring & Evaluation Senior Officer is responsible for managing the monitoring, evaluation, reporting, learning & documentation activities of the commission, including advising on research design and data analysis approaches.     

Major Duties and Responsibilities of the Post

  • Review the monitoring system, prepares and updates monitoring guidelines,  procedures and closeley follow up its applicability at all levels,
  • Establishes, clarifies and refines verifiable indicators for the performance,
  • Develop and strengthen inspection and evaluation procedures,
  • Create data collection formats and contribute to questionnaire design & development undertakings.
  • Train users on data collection format and ensure quality of data.
  • Work with researchers during data collection, organization and analysis.
  • Undertakes field monitoring and supervision.
  • Track progresses towards achiving project/program outputs; monitor the use of project inputs, activities, output and work schedule,
  • Ensures that comments are incorporated in the monitoring report before it is released and submitted to donors and other stakeholders,
  • Initiate and actively particpate in the need assessment, project appraisal, baselinesurvey and ongoing evaluation,
  • Organize  & prepare monthly, quarterly, half-year and annual progress reports of the department and the commission.
  • Provide inputs, information and statistics for quarterly, half-yearly and annual and other reports,
  • Enriches the database of the commission for future planning and provide feedback to the policy of the EOC-DICAC,
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

 

Term of Employment:  One year with a possibility of extension

Required Number: one

  • MSC/MA or BA/BSc degree in Economics, Project Management, Statistics, or its equivalent from a recognized institution,
  • Minimum of 4 years’ for MSC/MA or 6 years’for  BA/BSc experience in Monitoring, Evaluaiton, Learning and Reporting and result based Planning and Management in NGOs,
  • Track record of training, mentoring and supervising in MEAL activities,
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate across teams to deliver results,
  • Proven ability to think and act strategically, including the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing,
  • Ablility to perform duities and responsibilities under stress condition,
  • Able and willing to travel frequently to the project intervention areas,
  • Competence in the use of computer applications,
