LeDeG Midwifery College is a social Enterprise set up as private limited company in Addis Ababa. 100% of the College’s income will be dedicated to the sponsorship of girls from the rural areas to become midwives. These trained midwives will return and serve their respective communities.

LeDeG Midwifery College charity organization which is trying to save mothers and infants in Ethiopia ». On top of this, it is training young poor girls from hard to reach areas of the country by covering all expenses including food dormitory, medical insurance, stipend etc…
The college programs entail Generic program. The students are selected based on a national survey on the topic; actual recruitment is done jointly with the respective regional health bureaus.
Up on successful completion of their study, sponsored students are obliged to return to their community of origin and serve at least for two years. To this end, they’ll sign agreement both with the regional health bureaus and the college.
Job Description
LeDeG Midwifery College has an exciting opportunity for you to join our college as the Head of the Registrar at the college located at 6 killo in Addis Ababa.
The Head of the Registrar provides leadership and oversight to all aspects of the Office of the Registrar in LeDeG Midwifery College. She/he plays a critical role in the college and Academic operations by effectively managing the maintenance and integrity of all student academic records in the campus the approved curriculum, the creation and maintenance of course schedules, all areas of student registration and the recording and reporting of grades, compliance with students grade related issues and the academic regulations, and the establishment and maintenance of processes for the equitable and consistent administration of policies and procedures as they relate to registration and academic record keeping. And also monitors, supervises and guides the IT expert in the IT lab regularly. She/he must provide strong leadership consistent with the academic goals and mission of the institution.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL
Student Records and Student Admissions
- The admissions process occurs twice a year at the beginning of each semester per prescribed academic calendars.
- Manage the bi-annual admissions and re-admissions process including data management and development of efficient electronic administrative and data management systems. Inputs to this process include student, College website enquiries, intercollegiate office liaison and electronic data transfers
- In consultation with the Student Affairs Head, plan and manage and ensure that incoming students meet the academic and personal criteria set by the College
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of student records (both electronic and in hard copy) and make sure prospective students (new, returning, readmitted) are processed to enrolment in an orderly and efficient manner. This includes:
- Maintaining student records and database for future and current students
- Issuing and collating all student forms
- Updating of database from returned enrolment documentation
- Answering general student inquiries
- Updating the student database by moving non returning students to past, returning student to current year and future students to current once their enrolment papers have been processed
- Control and report on student cohort numbers, profile and movements throughout the year
- In collaboration with the Academic Affairs Head and the Dean of the college undertake an annual review of the Student Admissions process looking for efficiencies including better software or on-line platforms
- In a timely manner, input all data into the College’s student database, undertake database system processes and provide, create and distribute meaningful student reports
- Assist report to Accountant office and Academic affairs dean student status.
Student Administration and Liaison
- Update student data, information and records in the College’s database (Synergetic), complying with the college data standard requirements
- Propose and forward list of graduating class students (who have finished their education and complete all the necessary requirements for Graduation) for the senate at the end of every year for approval
- Provide the Academic Affairs Head, College Deans, and campus registrars with Semester 1 and 2 student profiles
- Provide the Accounts Office with the following information for accurate and timely invoicing purposes:
- Incoming new students and outgoing students at the end of Semester 1
- Returning and non-returning students at the end of Semester 2
- Provide the Accounts Office with lists of names and details of Students.
- Other duties as directed.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in any related field of studies (Education, Statistics and IT (Computer Science) and MA/MSc is desirable.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a registrar or closely related enrollment management for BA/ BSc holders and 2 year and above experience for master’s degree
- Excellent research, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Attuned to detail and insistent on correct information and data, both verbal and written
- Experience with student information systems; development of reports, plans and budgets and regulations related to student records
- Demonstrated experience to manage complex operations and systems
