The Project Manager will oversee key client projects, with a specific emphasis on client management, contract administration, and support budget monitoring. The role will play a crucial role in ensuring successful project execution, adherence to contractual terms, and efficient resource allocation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Contract Administration:
- Collaborate with Technical, Compliance and Finance teams to ensure contracts are well-defined, compliant, and aligned with project objectives.
- Monitor contract performance throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to terms, timelines, and quality standards.
- Address any contract-related issues promptly, including scope changes, deliverables, and payment milestones.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and internal teams.
Budget Management:
- Develop and maintain detailed project budgets, considering all relevant costs based on an agreed budget breakdown with the client and project directors.
- Monitor project expenditures, track variances, and proactively address budget deviations.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure on time invoicing to the client and accurate financial reporting.
Resource Mobilization:
- Coordinate internal resources for project start-up and identify additional resources required for smooth startup and implementation.
- Collaborating with the project team lead to identify the necessary skill set of the project team and facilitate recruitment.
- Ensure resource availability and allocation throughout the project implementation.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks related to contracts, budgets, and project deliverables.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
- Escalate critical risks to senior management as needed.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, amendments, and financial records.
- Generate regular progress reports, highlighting key achievements, challenges, project burn rate and upcoming milestones.
- Ensure accurate and timely invoicing and payment processing.
- Ensure accurate and timely technical and financial reporting to the clients.
- Perform any other duties as may be required by him/her immediate supervisor
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, project management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in developmental project management, preferably with a focus on contract administration and budget management.
- Strong understanding of contract terms, legal requirements, and risk management.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and a results-oriented mindset.
REPORTING
The Project Manager reports to the Commercial Director-General Manager and with dotted line to the Technical Director.
