JDC, the leading global Jewish humanitarian organization, seeks to hire an experienced and data-driven individual to fill the position of Medical Information Officer for our Ethiopia offices .

The Medical Information Officer is responsible for maintaining patient forms, medical records and other types of documents.

What will you do as a Medical Information Officer?

  • Accurately enter patient medical information on AJJDC’s database.
  • Compile, sort and verify the accuracy of data before it is entered.
  • Capture and document appropriate medical photos of patients, digitalize x-rays, CT scans, MRIs and other medical records and encode into AJJDC’s database.
  • Assist in filling patient intake forms and document as per established procedures.
  • Maintain medical records by compiling, managing and securing the medical database under their care, and to keep both the information and the computer system up-to-date.
  • Prepare dashboards, and generate regular reports for internal and external purposes
  • Actively participate in preparing surveys and research
  • Perform other duties as and when assigned by the Director of Programs and Operations.

What qualifications do you need to be our Medical Information Officer?

  • Medical background – advantage
  • Experience in a medical record environment
  • Computer literate – general working knowledge of MacOS, preferable
  • Proven experience working with CRM and EMR systems
  • Focused on high quality work
  • Well-organized, detail oriented, analytical and able to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Extremely reliable
  • Willingness to travel to regions on monthly basis
  • Willingness to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge
  • English language – working proficiency
