Purpose of the Job:

To drive the growth and profitable operation of the Pharmacy (AXUM Pharmacy) by directing a customer-focused, cost-efficient, and safe retail and distribution of pharmaceutical products supplied by the Company.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Prepare annual sales plan.

·         Coordinate necessary arrangements to obtain drugs needed in the Pharmacy.

·         Check for proper storage of medicines, follow up inventory levels and release purchase orders.

·         Check for proper shelving of medicines based on their sensitivity to light, expiry date, pace of movement and regulatory requirements.

·         Enforce compliance with all regional and federal laws, company policies and procedures, and regarding the licences of the Pharmacy personnel.

·         Maintain inventory levels to company goals, rotate stock, comply with recalls, and utilize return process.

·         Get the approval from the Head, Pharmaceuticals Retail Department and procure medicines that are not available at Ahadu pharmaceuticals.

·         Approve transfer of overstocked medicines to and from other Ahadu pharmacies.

·         Offer general advice and professional assistance and guidance to patients.

·         Evaluate medicines for their pricing, rate of sell and shelf life and make recommendations for the wholesale department.

·         Provide guidelines and instructions for the safe preparation, compounding, dispensing and administration of medications to include appropriate labelling and expiration dates.

·         Resolve customer complaints.

·         Follow up inventory levels and protect overall losses and discrepancies and expiry in the inventory.

·         Maintain good business relations with internal and external customer and widen customer base through strong relationships.

·         Offer health promotion and prevention activities, for example, training people to use devices such as blood pressure or diabetes monitors.

·         Act as Pharmacist-In-Charge for regulatory, legal, third party insurance and audit purposes.

·         Maintain proper Pharmacy and general safety procedures and standards.

·         Maintain adherence to company and regulatory dress code standards, and direct Pharmacy team in maintaining appropriate professional appearance.

·         Coordinate Pharmacy schedule; direct and monitor Pharmacy personnel and performance by providing ongoing and constructive feedback, training, and evaluations; make recommendations for hiring, promotion, and termination.

·         Evaluate the periodic performance of his/her subordinates.

·         Manage staff by maintaining effective employee relations according to company policies and employment laws and ensure relevant Human Resources (HR) procedures are followed.

 

 

Qualification

–  Pharm/B.Sc Degree in Pharmacy

–   At least Five years of experience as a licensed pharmacist with 2 to 3 years of experience as a head pharmacist.

–   Working knowledge of purchasing pharmaceutical supplies and inventory and compounding of prescriptions and pharmaceutical preparations.

–   Strong organizational and supervisory skills.

–   Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.

–   Able to stay calm and work well under pressure.

–   Good Knowledge of Pharmaceuticals Business, Pharmaceuticals Products & Retail Pharmacy

–   Good Knowledge of Regulatory Authority Rules and Regulations

–   Skill in the use of computer
