Today these companies manufacture well-known brands for the Ethiopian market including Tena Oil, 555 and Aura Soap, Chef Luca Pasta and AquaSafe Mineral water from their facilities.

Job Summary

The Fleet Manager is responsible for managing, coordinating and supervising the assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement and disposal of all vehicles. Fleet manager also serves as the primary contact concerning the vehicle fleet and operations.

The Fleet Manager is responsible for planning maintenance, insurance renewals and Bolo/Road fund management of each vehicle.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for maintaining Fleet management data base and reporting
  • Responsible for recruitment of 3rd part service providers (i.e transport service providers, garage service providers and insurance service provisos)
  • Managing the 3rd party transport provider, garage and pool cars
  • Responsible for 3rd party insurance, Bolo renewals and road fund payments
  • Responsible for preventive maintenance of all vehicles
  • Responsible for timely reporting of Accident and vehicle breakdowns
  • Responsible for police report and insurance claim of all vehicles
  • Direct supervision of drivers and fleet supervisor and evaluating the work of employees as a first-line supervisor
  • Responsible for spare parts planning and procurements of all vehicles
  • Responsible for fuel management
  • Develop and implement training modules for vehicles and equipment use and care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

COMPETENCIES: –

  • Functional knowledge and experience as an auto mechanic
  • Experience in creating and establishing fleet policies and procedures, from vehicle assignment to replacement, from personal use to accident reporting
  • Experience in 3rd party service provider management
  • Negotiating skills

  • Driving skills

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fleet management and vehicle maintenance management
  • Proven experience directly and indirectly supervising and managing staff and teams.
  • Proven experience as Fleet Manager in a reputable organization.
  • Experience in managing garages, maintenance and drivers and also using relevant technology and equipment (e.g. GPS)
  • Experience in reporting and emergency response planning.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Tools
  • Understanding of budgeting and statistical data analysis.
