OK Bottling and Beverage Share Company is involved in the production of Bottled Natural Spring Water that highly satisfies its customers as well as end users in supplying clean spring water and in discharging its social responsibility for the society.  The Company’s manufacturing Plant is located in South Nations and Nationalities Region Guraghe Zone Eza Woreda nearby Wolkite University 198 KMS away from Addis Ababa.  The Company currently is looking to hire dynamic, energetic and hardworking potential employee in the following position as per specified job requirements.

Job Summary and Description  

Finance Manager is responsible for overall financial management of the Company. Finance Department plans, organizes, directs and controls the financial operation of the company. He/she consults the General Manager and department managers on financial matters; supervises the work of the divisions under his/her supervision.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Job Responsibility # 1: Planning and Management

  • Develops a risk management strategy process for OK Bottling and Beverage S.C ensures regular review and update timely.
  • Plans, organizes, directs, co-ordinates and controls the treasury, accounting, costing and budgeting activities of the company.
  • Develops coherent financial resource strategies, policies, procedures and guidelines for proper implementation of activities of the department and implements the same when approved.
  • Assesses and identifies appropriate sources of fund for financing short, medium and long term plans and programs of the company.
  • Directs the preparation of financial statements, forecasts and budgets.
  •  Ensure that financial operations are implemented in cost efficient manner.
  • Formulates long, medium and short-term plans for the activities of the department and  ensures its implementation upon approval.
  •  Ensures the provision of financial and material resources required for the efficient running of the Company.
  • Advises the GM on matters relating to the financial management of the Company.
  • Prepares short (annual budget) and long term financial plan within the framework strategic and operational plans of the company.

Job Responsibility # 2: Financial Activities

  • Ensures that proper books of accounts are maintained for recording the financial transactions of the Company.
  • Ensures that checks, receipts and other financial documents are kept properly and safeguarded against any misuse.
  • Analyses records of current and past operations to determine trends and to regulate the financial health of the Company.
  • Analyses financial statements and other related reports to identify problem areas; takes remedial actions where necessary and makes appropriate recommendations to the management of the company.
  • Ascertains that receivables are collected and legal financial obligations are met on time.
  • Control and follow up of proper company asset utilization and take safety measures to safeguard misappropriation of assets.
  • Manage working capital-cash and fund raising, inventory control, receivable and payable status.
  • Oversee periodic reconciliation of accounts with clients, banks, vendors, insurance companies.
  • Ensures that OK Bottling and Beverage S.C is in compliance with local legislations that may be applicable including those related to taxation, custom duties and rates and that effective mechanisms are in place to monitor the external environment for changes in financial/tax regulations.
  • Compares budget with actual costs, revenues, administrative commitment and other obligations to determine the accuracy of current estimates by analyzing records of current and future budgetary positions.
  • Coordinates and conducts periodic and comprehensive training need assessment to enhance skills of staff to ensure that employees develop to their highest potential.
  • Provides advice and inform to GM on financial management issues and regulation.
  • Ensures the timely settlement of payable transactions and undertakings; ensures taxes and fees payable by the company are paid on time.
  • Ensures that payments are effected as per approved policies and procedures and legal requirements; and ensures timely collection of receivable arising from sales and other transactions of the company.
  • Undertakes analyses periodically of the financial performances of the company; recommends measures for improvement.
  • Verifies and ascertains requests for petty cash replenishment.
  • Ensures that chart of accounts is both understood and correctly applied in the coding of financial transactions.

Job Responsibility # 3: Reporting

  • Prepares periodic financial reports and submits to GM.
  • Assures that required financial information is made available to external auditor.
  • Prepares budget utilization reports; compares budgets with actual costs, revenue, administrative costs and other obligations to determine the accuracy of current estimates.
  • Prepares periodic action plans and reports and submits to GM.
  • Prepare and consolidate periodic financial reports/statements required by law and to help the management decisions making processes.
  • Job Responsibility # 4: Leadership
  • Lead on the setting and monitoring of performance targets for the department.
  • Supervises, leads, guides and supports staff responsible to him/her.
  • Completes all performance management activities including; performance planning, monitoring, and annual performance appraisals.
  • Provide the environment for learning within the department to ensure continuous development of skills.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationship amongst the Finance Department staffs and with other departments and staffs as well as external stakeholders such as banks, auditors, customers and partners.

Job Responsibility # 4: Others

  • Performs other duties assigned by the GM.
  • MBA/MA/BA in Finance or Accounting,
  • Minimum of 10/12 years relevant work experience in manufacturing business companies.
  • Better Knowledge of Ethiopian Taxation System, Costing and Budget Preparation,
  • IFRS skill is required.
