Position: 2 Tutors, expert in job placement

Start Date: December 2022

Reporting To: Country Administrator and Country Representative

Duration Contract: 12 months renewable with 60 days probation period

Organization

CIFA Onlus is an Italian based humanitarian Organization established in 1980. The organization is working in developing countries in partnership with local organizations to address the plights of vulnerable societies with special focus on supporting OVC, girls’ education and women empowerment.

CIFA has been working to support vulnerable categories in Ethiopia since 2004. Thanks to several years of experience in supporting children and youth, with a special attention to girls and women, CIFA has improved, project after project, its capacity to facilitate the access to education as well as socio-economic integration for vulnerable targets, such as returnees and potential migrants, gaining experience as implementer of different programs promoted by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation as well as the European Union (EU Emergency Trust Fund for Africa), The Freedom Fund (USAID) and other minor donors, in addressing the root causes of irregular migration and for the environmental protection through the creation of value chains from waste.

Key Tasks

The tutor participates from the beginning in the selection of the 4000 beneficiaries of the training activities; S/he supports the expert trainers in the development of the training modules, assists and follows up in the implementation of the training, liaising with the project team and involving the beneficiaries individually and directly.

The tutors’ key tasks will be the following:

  • Attending project coordination meetings
  • Contributing to the identification and selection of the beneficiaries, on the basis of the project’s indicators
  • Collaborate with the logistician in organizing the training modules
  • Assists training actively and in coordination with the trainers
  • Contributes to the identification of the beneficiaries, between the most vulnerable categories (unemployed, returnees, potential migrants, etc) and collaborates in defining the group of beneficiaries most suitable for the proposed path, training and leather skill trainings with the aim of job placement in the leather sector;
  • S/he helps the beneficiaries to orient themselves by showing the available opportunities in the area where they live, in order to identify adequate skills training and job opportunities based on the individual abilities.
  • Participates in the collection of data for the elaboration of an analysis of the needs of the beneficiaries

Qualifications & requirements

Qualification:

  • Degree in Social work, Education, Social Sciences or Psychology

Personal Skills:

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills;
  • Good management, administrative and communication skills;
  • Must be organized, able to be multi-tasked, flexible, and able to work as a team and individual;
  • Strong interpersonal and empathic skills

Language:

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal;
  • Excellent communication skills in Amharic, both written and verbal

IT:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word required;
  • Good knowledge of Power Geez Program;
  • Good Knowledge of Internet, Email, Google Drive & other, Communication Platforms (skype, Google meet, zoom, etc…)

Experience:

  • Previous experience of at least five years in training or in education
  • Previous experience with vulnerable people, including unemployed, returnees and potential migrants
  • Experience working with NGOs or humanitarian organizations for 3/5 years is an asset;

ETB 20,262.00/Twenty thousand two hundred sixty two only/month as basic salary
