SAMANU represents group of companies which are engaged in the business of manufacturing consumer-focused products in Ethiopia. Today these companies manufacture well-known brands for the Ethiopian market including Tena Oil, 555 and Aura Soap, Chef Luca Pasta and AquaSafe Mineral water from their facilities.

JOB SUMMARY

The Employee Engagement/Experience Manager plays a critical role in cultivating a positive and supportive work environment across SAMANU group of companies. This position is responsible for developing and implementing initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement, satisfaction, and overall experience within the organization. The position will possess a deep understanding of employee needs, effective communication skills, and a passion for creating a cohesive and inclusive workplace culture within the fast-paced industry.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to improve employee engagement and satisfaction levels across all companies within SAMANU group.
  • An employee experience manager is responsible for developing strategies to improve employee engagement, satisfaction, and overall well-being.
  • Employee experience manager shall be responsible for ensuring productive and engaged workforce, lower employee turnover, positive brand reputation, and a more innovative work environment.
  • Employee experience managers need to find out exactly what employees think and feel about the organization to do their job effectively.
  • Collaborate with HR leadership and departmental managers to design and implement employee engagement programs (Weekly, monthly ,quarterly and yearly events with employees) and initiatives tailored to the unique needs of each company.
  • Organizing team-building activities and networking events
  • Conduct regular surveys, focus groups, and one-on-one interviews to assess employee satisfaction, identify areas for improvement, and measure the effectiveness of engagement initiatives.
  • Identifying  new technologies and tools to help employees collaborate more effectively.
  • Ensure employee benefits and compensation are on par with industry averages: they work with HR and finance departments to ensure employee benefits and compensation packages are competitive.
  • Plan and coordinate employee events, team-building activities, and recognition programs to foster a sense of community and belonging among employees.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and supervisors on best practices for promoting employee engagement and maintaining a positive work culture.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee feedback and concerns, working closely with management to address issues and implement solutions in a timely manner.
  • Setup strong grievance handling program with HRBPs
  • Resolve any IR issues proactively and provide transparency on policy
  • Address issues related to equity and fairness with HRBPS
  • Celebrating diversity and inclusion
  • Ensure working environment is clean and safe
  • Land strong employee wellbeing programs
  • Run general medical check up annually and provide support for people at risk
  • Monitor trends and developments in employee engagement and experience, recommending adjustments to strategies and initiatives as needed to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
  • Encouraging mentorships and sponsorships within the organization
  • Analyze data and metrics related to employee engagement, turnover, and retention, using insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, fostering collaboration and alignment of engagement initiatives with overall business objectives.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging best practices in employee engagement and experience within the sector.

COMPETENCIES: –

  • Strong understanding of employee relations principles and best practices for fostering a positive work environment within a fast-paced, dynamic industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skill, with the ability to build rapport and effectively engage with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and evaluate employee engagement programs and initiatives.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and metrics, draw insights, and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for driving innovation and positive change within the workplace.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with HRIS platforms preferred.
  • Certification in employee engagement or related fields is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS: –

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE: –

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a human resources role, with a focus on employee engagement, organizational development, or related areas. Experience within the FMCG industry is highly desirable.
