We are looking for a dedicated agricultural Expert with a background in general agriculture or crop production to join our team. This responsible professional and managerial expert also engaged in planning, directing, and coordinating the overall activities of an Agricultural Experiment Station field research laboratory. As a senior agricultural Expert, you will play a key role in the preparation of senior business proposal and understanding the dynamics of agricultural or Agro-processing businesses including banking or the national bank policy in Ethiopia. Furthermore, knowledge of mining site requisition, team and equipment organization, identifying the supply chain in terms of profitability and standard for exports, a capacity to move the company with similar work experience, evaluating agricultural projects, conducting assessment, and providing insights to improve agricultural practices. Your expertise in agriculture will be essential in ensuring the success of our initiatives in the sector.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct business Proposal of agricultural projects and programs to evaluate their effectiveness.
- Coordinates research activities with university departments as well as state and federal agencies.
- Determines cropping systems, labor, pesticides, and other general research needs and requirements.
- Collect and analyze data related to crop production, agricultural practices, and sustainability.
- Identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations based on assessment findings.
- Supervises and/or resolves problems encountered in field laboratory operations including equipment repair, soil conservation, disease, nematode and insect infestations, weeds, pesticide safety, water conservation, and irrigation.
- Develop assessment tools and methodologies to measure the impact of agricultural interventions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and partners to gather information and insights for assessments.
- Prepare reports and presentations summarizing assessment results and recommendations.
- Stay current with developments in the field of agriculture and assessment methodologies.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new assessment projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in agro-economy or related fields.
- 15+ years of experience working as a senior agricultural Expert in the sector.
- Knowledge of agricultural practices, crop production techniques, and sustainability principles.
- Experience in conducting assessments, data collection, and analysis.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with a diverse team.
- Proficiency in data analysis software and tools.
- Passion for improving agricultural practices and promoting sustainability.
