Since its inception 15 years ago, Kerchanshe has established a track record of fair trading and excellent customer service, and now employs over 1,350 permanent staff and more than 20,000 seasonal staff. Directly and indirectly, it impacts the livelihoods of over 1 million coffee growers throughout the southern and south-western coffee-cultivating regions of Ethiopia.

The passion for fine coffee is coupled with consistent reinvestment not only in improved infrastructure, technology and processes, but Kerchanshe also invests 10% of its annual profits into social responsibility programs through Buna Qala NGO,  which is stablished and fully supported and monitored under Kerchanshe trading, the former  to build public schools, clinics, etc,  to provide clean water and other related cervices to the communities.

The diversified types of Arabica cultivation in the country and its highly suitable environment with high altitudes, good rainfall, and rich volcanic soils yields to the uniquely Ethiopian flavours and aromas that are present in its elegant range of gourmet, specialty and organic coffee. General Job Description:

  • Checks forms for completeness and files materials according to an established filing system and simple inventory records. Operates photocopying machine and distributes copied documents as necessary.

Specific Job Description

  • Performing general office duties such as copying, scanning, printing, and answering phone calls and emails, among others
  • Draft and Edit completed work for grammar, spelling and punctuation of Afan Oromo, Amharic and English based format documents.
  • Gather and organize typing material
  • Create spreadsheets and presentations, combining various data from existing files
  • Maintain physical and digital filing systems
  • Scan and print files, as needed
  • Take notes at meetings with managers and others to create detailed texts
  • Ensuring that the office supplies are maintained and informing the supervisor of any issues or requirements.
  • Keep information confidential in accordance with security policies

Qualification

  • BA degree or Diploma in Secretarial Science, information technology, computer science, office management, or other related fields
  • Computer training or certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 4/6 years’ experience as office Secretary, Office Management. 

Skills Required

  • Proven work experience as a Typist
  • Experience using data recorders and optical scanners
  • Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets
  • Familiarity with office equipment
  • Strong Afan Oromo, Amharic and English language skills
  • Attention to detail with ability to spot grammar, spelling and punctuation errors
