Salesian Sisters is a Catholic Religious Organization who is giving its service in 85 countries of the world. Our Province AES is working in Africa, Ethiopia, Sudan and South Sudan. In Ethiopia we are working under the umbrella of Ethiopian Catholic Church and we are in Addis Ababa, Adwa, Dilla, Ziway and Gubrye Town.
We are seeking a project officer who has the following qualification and ability:
Job Description
Proposal Writing:
- Demonstrated ability to craft clear, concise, and persuasive project proposals.
- Experience in preparing proposals and grant applications.
- Knowledge of best practices in proposal development
Report Writing:
- Proficient in creating comprehensive and well-structured project reports.
- Strong written communication skills to convey project progress, challenges, and outcomes effectively.
Data Collection:
- Ability to liaise with different stakeholders and extract relevant information for project purposes.
Documentation:
- Meticulous in maintaining organized project documentation.
Project Management:
- Track record of successfully managing and overseeing projects from initiation to completion.
Timely Task Response:
- Demonstrated capability to respond promptly to assigned tasks.
- Proactive in addressing issues and providing timely updates.
Teamwork:
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Adaptability:
- Flexible approach to handle diverse tasks and responsibilities.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Responsibility:
specifically, the candidate will be called upon to perform the following tasks:
- Ensure the necessary support to the project leaders on site in the planning and organizational phase, and provide technical assistance to the parties concerned to define plans and financial arrangements necessary for the proper preparation of ongoing and planned initiatives;
- Produce all the periodic reports required in the financial and administrative area, and take care of the preparation of registers and accounting documents for economic-financial control on the basis of local regulations, and supervise the administrator in the insertion of this data in the accounting schedules prepared by the funder
- Support the missions of statutory auditors or other qualified auditors (external and internal);
- Support the Program Development Office in the identification and design of new actions.
- Prepare and verify tender procedures for the acquisition of goods and services, and the execution of works on the basis of local procedures and those prepared by the funder
- ensure the proper preparation of contracts (goods, services, works and personnel) in the compliance with current regulations
- Develop a proposal as per the need of the missions in Ethiopia, South Sudan and Sudan (AES Province) and align with the requirements of funders either public or private.

Duration: One Year (Project Based)
- Master or degree studies, mainly in social field.
- Previous experience in similar positions and indispensable in NGOs at least during 2 years.
- Mastery of the management of the development cooperation project cycle, as well as knowledge of the instruments, methodologies and approaches of Development Cooperation.
- Microsoft office, mainly excel and word.
- Capacity for proposal, analysis, initiative and teamwork.
- Capacity for organization and planning.
- Communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to highly demanding living and working conditions
- Meticulous in maintaining organized project documentation
