- The Department Manager assumes the overall responsibility of the purchasing function by ensuring the acquisition of the right quality and quantity of supplies, at the right time and price and from the right source.
- Guide / Supervise Local and Foreign purchase and Supply sections and in general the department staff.
- Work closely with all departments focusing specially with the Engineering and Construction personnel on the materials requirement plan of projects and draw up procurement plans, follow them up, revise and implement them.
- Ensure the right specifications are indicated on the Purchase Requisition and the right materials are purchased.
- Ensure all purchase requests are approved by the designated officials and quotation are collected by timely bases.
- Determine the appropriate procurement method and determine whether it requires expedited processing.
- Need great care in the selection of suppliers. New suppliers should only be added if they have technical capabilities, provide better materials and at lower price than the previous known suppliers.
- Ensure upon arrival at the warehouse in Addis Ababa, with other appropriate Ensure that the necessary resources – human, material, finance, and machinery are available for projects in a coordinated manner.
- Planning and monitoring inbound and outgoing deliveries.
- Supervising logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services.
- Organizing warehouse, label goods, plot routes, and process shipments.
- Responding to any issues or complaints.
- Ensures that materials as well as fixed assets are received and issued with the proper formats.
- Guide and supervise purchasing & Supply personnel.
- Chair the Purchasing Committee of the Head Office.
Qualification/ MA/BA in Supply Chain Mgt, Logist
Work Experience/ 8-10 Years or above related work experience
