Chemonics International Inc, the Buyer, acting on behalf of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Urban Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), under contract number 72066323D00003 is soliciting offers from companies and organizations to submit proposals to participate with Urban WASH to provide training for the Vacuum Truck operators of six cities (Adama, Bishoftu, Sashemene, Hawassa, Dire Dawa and Harar), Utility Sanitation experts and TVETI teachers from Auto mechanic department.
The Urban WASH Activity is a five-year USAID-funded project being implemented by Chemonics International and its partners. The goal of the Urban WASH Activity is to support accelerated access to safe, adequate, inclusive, and resilient WASH services targeting urban and peri-urban areas.
As the Urban WASH activity implementation is ongoing, and the project anticipates awarding subcontract to a company which has a capacity to provide comprehensive training on the operation and maintenance of sucker trucks and pumps for toilet sucker truck operators of six targeted locations operators, utility sanitation experts and TVETI teachers from Auto Mechanic Department. The training program is to empower toilet sucker truck operators with the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitudes to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant operation and maintenance of sucker trucks and pumps. By improving their capabilities, the program aims to enhance the overall effectiveness and sustainability of toilet emptying services in Ethiopia secondary cities. The training of operators and mechanics of the toilet sucker trucks will be trained on topics such as the operation and maintenance of the trucks and the equipment (the Pump) the safety and hygiene procedures.
The organization or company we are looking for must have a well-equipped training garage facility in Addis Ababa with the capacity to accommodate 40 trainees at a time. Additionally, the company should have a team of skilled trainers who specialize in vacuum truck operation and maintenance and hold relevant certifications. These trainers expected to have a thorough understanding of safety protocols and procedures related to sucker truck operations. Generally, we are in search of a highly experienced company in Ethiopia that has a successful history of conducting similar assignments. Accordingly, Chemonics officially invited eligible and interested bidders to participate in the competition.
