Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Finance Manager to join our team. The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities including financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, analysis activities to support strategic decision-making and optimize financial performance, financial reporting, and risk management and also overseeing all financial aspects of our projects.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in finance, project accounting, and management, a solid understanding of finance principles, with the ability to analyze financial data, provide strategic insights, and drive financial performance.
Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Lead the development of financial plans, annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads and senior management aligning with organizational goals and objectives.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial forecasts, incorporating input from various stakeholders and adjusting projections as needed based on changing business conditions.
- Analyze budget variances and provide explanations for deviations from targets.
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, including profitability analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and scenario modelling.
- Monitor key financial metrics and KPIs to assess business performance and identify areas for improvement.
Project Accounting & Financial Management:
- Establish and maintain project accounting processes and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Perform project cost allocations and revenue recognition in accordance with accounting standards (IFRS).
- Develop and maintain project budgets in collaboration with project managers and stakeholders.
- Monitor project expenses, analyze variances, and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Implement cost control measures to optimize project profitability.
- Provide financial guidance and support to project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
- Prepare executive-level presentations summarizing financial performance, highlighting trends, and providing recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between financial reporting and operational metrics.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support decision-making, including ROI analysis, scenario modeling, and sensitivity analysis.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to drive business performance and operational efficiency.
- Partner with senior management to develop business cases and evaluate the financial impact of strategic initiatives.
Treasury/Cash Flow Management:
- Manage cash flow (including inflow and outflow) and liquidity to meet operational needs and financial obligations.
- Ensure collection from clients is in line with agreed terms and timelines.
- Monitor cash flow projections and optimize cash management processes to maximize efficiency and minimize risks.
Process Improvement and Optimization:
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance data accuracy, and improve efficiency within the finance function.
- Implement best practices for financial planning and analysis, including standardized reporting formats, templates, and methodologies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality and effectiveness of financial analysis and reporting.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor finance staff involved in financial reporting & project accounting activities.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the finance team.
- Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing to enhance financial capabilities across the organization.
Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, investors, lenders, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
- Communicate financial performance, forecasts, and strategic initiatives to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Work with CFO on leading and building efficient finance teams across the group.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Proven experience in finance management with a focus on project accounting, preferably in a project-based industry such as construction, engineering, or real estate.
- Proficiency in financial planning and analysis, with a focus on budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling & sensitivity analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems and software, such as ERP systems and project management tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
