Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and manages all activities Semay Farm envisions to do.
- Prepares quarterly and yearly business plans of the farm.
- Consistently follow up project implementation, evaluate and report to the Director.
- Works closely with the director on major decisions and directions of the Farm.
- Provides daily management, supportive supervision and technical assistance to all departments.
- Works to ensures established working practices, according to the national laws. Works closely with the project’s legal adviser on this matter.
- Overseas the effective sales, marketing and profitability of products
- Periodically research modern farming technologies, new farming trends and products and suggests to the director.
- Aims quality and ecofriendly productivity, packaging and transportation of products.
- Provides support, guidance and evaluates the performances of Workers.
- Hires, trains and assigns non-skilled farm workers and seasonal workers.
- Trains and monitors experts that will be hired by the director.
- Overseas the workplace hygiene, sanitation, and wellbeing of workers.
- Manages monetary and other resources of the project efficiently.
- Collaborate with stakeholders such as local government, community leaders and other prominent figures of the local community.
- Closely monitor and the proper and efficient utilization of the project budget.
- Represent the Project in workshops and other meetings such as with banks, local government officers, Wereda police and others.
- Ensure the confidentiality of Project’s data, in all departments.
- Compile project success, lessons learned, best practices and provide suggestion that can scale the project up.
- Request the procurement of Farm machines, tools, and equipment’s.
- Arrange for the purchase of staff provisions: office, kitchen, storage, and the likes.
Educational requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree and above in Business management, Farm management, Agribusiness, Agronomy, project management, economics, and the likes.
Level:
- Senior: 5+ years of related work experience
Skills required:
Demonstrated Management skills, knowledge and experience are required. Examples of the manager’s trains include:
- Critical thinking, Strong communication skills, team playing capacity, Integrity, honesty, responsible mentality.
- Experience in managing large staff members.
- Result oriented work ethics.

- Current Local government policies and directions
- Current national agricultural policies
- Agriculture related import and expert policies
