Almost 40 years of global experience supports and informs JSI’s work in Ethiopia. Since 1994, JSI has worked in partnership with the government and local civil society organizations to support the Ethiopian government’s health and development priorities.
JSI is working in all regions across Ethiopia, in urban as well as rural areas—though most projects reach the largest population groups by focusing on the four most populous regions.

Background: JSI is a US-based public health nonprofit organization dedicated to providing high-quality technical and managerial assistance programs throughout the world. In Ethiopia, JSI has been working to improve health outcomes for more than 25 years, implementing more than 60 projects and working in every region. JSI has historically managed a large portfolio of projects focusing on the quality, and equity in access of, RMNCAH services, primary health care (PHC) including community health program, digital health, health information systems (HIS), supply chain management, public health emergency responses, and social and behavior change.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of IT Vendor and Contract Management leads vendor relationship management, contract negotiations, software licensing, and IT procurement activities. This position oversees vendor performance while identifying opportunities to optimize costs.

The Director develops trusted partnerships with technology suppliers and service providers. They ensure adherence to contracts and licensing agreements. This role manages the RFP process, vendor selection, and onboarding for key IT partnerships. They also forecast IT expenditures and maintain budgets.

Position Purpose:

  • Provide strategic direction for global IT vendor management.
  • Negotiate optimal contracts and licensing agreements.
  • Lead procurement processes and purchasing for IT goods/services.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts worldwide.
  • Identify and execute on opportunities for expense optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with software licenses and vendor contracts.
  • Maintain trusted partnerships with technology providers globally.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance to deliver value.
  • Negotiate favorable licensing agreements and renewals.
  • Ensure vendor security and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead IT procurement processes and purchasing of technologies/services.
  • Identify and execute on opportunities for expense reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with software licenses and vendor contracts.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets for IT expenditures.
  • Implement cost optimization strategies related to vendors.
  • Maintain trusted partnerships with technology and service providers.
  • Manage third party risk assessment and monitoring.
  • 7+ years overseeing IT vendor and contract management.
  • Experience negotiating complex technology contracts and licenses.
  • Strong vendor management and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of IT procurement processes and pricing strategies.
  • Budget management expertise with forecasting and reporting.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate vendor performance and total cost.
  • Diplomatic approach to drive mutually beneficial partnerships.
