Duties and Responsibilities
- Communication and Social Media Specialist is expected to create, publish, monitor, and analyze content on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Telegram, etc. to grow an audience, build ABH brand awareness, and boost the visibility of the organization. S/he will oversee site metrics, interact with readers, and will be responsible for a creative design for all our social media platforms. With his/her understanding of the targeted audience for each social channel, s/he will create persuasive content that strikes a chord with the intended audience, and is unique to the typical interactions of each channel. Moreover, Communication and Social Media Specialist will be responsible for devising ABH’s communication and social media strategy, community management, creative directing, customer service, copywriting, and analyzing data pertaining to communication and social media for the organization.
Reporting to the Associate Director-Business Development and Partnerships, s/he will be responsible for the following activities: –
- Working closely with senior management, develop a communication and social media strategy for integrated publicity and social media campaigns.
- Assisting ABH’s programme, HR, Business development. etc. teams to select appropriate
- media platform for their projects/ activates across different available platforms.
- Creating and scheduling placement of content on various digital media platforms like twitter, You Tube, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Telegram, etc.
- Improving ABH brand’s awareness using selected social media channels.
- Creating content for digital media platforms according to platform guidelines.
- Writing content for search engine optimization.
- Ensuring brand consistency across all social media channels.
- Keeping the online media library up-to-date.
- Monitoring impact and return on investment of digital marketing campaigns.
- Remaining up-to-date with the latest digital media trends and design technology available.
- Developing creatives and graphics for ABH’s proposals, reports, briefs, etc.
- Any other task as requested by the line supervisor.
- Bachelor’s degree in digital media, marketing, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in communication and social media marketing in Ethiopia.
- A comprehensive knowledge of design and editing programs such as InDesign, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Illustrator, etc.
- Knowledge of web design and content management systems.
- Advanced experience with web analytic tools such as Google Ads and Google Campaign Manager.
- Familiarity with social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Telegram, Linkedin, etc.
- Rich knowledge of the latest media trends.
- Basic budgeting skills to reconcile paid digital media placements with the available budget.
- Demonstrated experience in designing creative graphics.
- Good presentation skills.
- A team player attitude.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and market standards.
