Main Duties
We are looking for a Trade Development Representative to act as the liaison between our Distribution, Marketing, and Sales teams. Your role will be to seek new business opportunities by contacting and developing relationships with potential customers and maintaining existing customers.
To succeed in this role, you should have experience developing leads from marketing campaigns and meeting sales quotas. You will use your communication skills to cultivate strong relationships with customers, from first contact until you close the deal. You will also be requiring ensuring proper visibility and branding of the services and products. We’d like to meet you if you are motivated and results-driven and enjoy working in a team environment. Ultimately, you will boost sales and contribute to our long-term business growth.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Qualify leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities
- Contact potential clients in person, through calls, and emails
- Present our company products and services to potential clients
- Identify client needs and suggest appropriate products/services
- Build long-term trusting relationships with clients
- Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market
- Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) clients
- Report to the immediate supervisor on (daily, weekly/monthly/quarterly/annually)
- Stay up-to-date with new products/services and new pricing/payment plans
- Possessing excellent knowledge to enhance customer support
- Getting the sale” using various customer sales methods
- Forecasting sales, developing “out of the box” sales strategies/models and evaluating their effectiveness
- Evaluating customer’s skills, needs and building productive long-lasting relationships
- Report and provide feedback to immediate supervisors using financial statistical data
- Maintain and expand the client database within your assigned territory.
Required Education and Skills
- BA degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Sales, Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering and related fields
- A minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Experience in team building, leading and related tasks is preferable.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven work experience as a Trade Development Representative, or similar role
- Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls)
- Track record of achieving sales quotas
- Familiarity with MS Excel (analyzing spreadsheets and charts)
- Understanding of sales performance metrics
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to deliver engaging presentations
- Knowledge of mediation and conflict resolution techniques is preferable.
- Excellent oral and written English skills, Amharic, and the local language.
