YaYa PII SC is established in 2022 and licensed in compliance with Licensing and Authorization of Payment Instrument Issuers Directive No. ONPS/09/2023 issued by National Bank of Ethiopia.
We develop and maintain technological solutions that centers on an iOS and Android smartphone applications to perform the following operations.
- provide cash-in and cash-out;
- local money transfers including domestic remittances, load to card or bank account, transfer to card or bank account;
- domestic payments including purchase from physical merchants, bill payments;
- over-the-counter transactions;

We are looking for a Human Resources generalist who has a good track record of handling HR and Administrative functions. This role requires a strong understanding of hiring and sourcing, training & development, organizational skills, HR policy, benefit strategies, job evaluation and restructuring. The ideal candidate should be a good communicator and fit in YaYa’s Hire-Train-Retain strategy.
Primary responsibilities
- Ensure all staff are aware of the Administrative and HR Policy.
- Provide recruitment, selection, and placement services according to YaYa Payment Instrument Issuer Share Company human resource needs per the recruitment guidelines.
- Initiate, develop, review, update, and monitor the implementation of the company’s human resources policies and procedures in line with the labor proclamation of Ethiopia and YaYa corporate mission.
- Develop and review the human resources budget per the Company’s financial policies, procedures & manning guide.
- Maintain and update accessible Human Resources Information System (HRIS) per the Company’s objectives.
- Attend local HR and other related PR networking events.
- Connect with educational institutions, mainly Business and Technology institutions and Tech Incubation Centers across all regions.
- Design seasonal internship programs for young graduates in Information Technology and Business (Marketing, Sales, Accounting, Economics, etc.)
- Plan, develop, and implement a performance management system and coordinate performance reviews in line with YaYa’s Human Resources Policies.
- Design and implement an exit and separation strategy for the Company per the Human Resources Policy.
- Develop and implement capacity-building strategies and succession plans per departmental needs and human resources policies.
- As required, provide continuous guidance, assessment, coaching, and staff counseling per the human resources policy and local laws and regulations.
- Design and monitor the implementation of employee relations, health and safety, and welfare in line with the Company policies.
- Conduct periodic departmental meetings to keep all members equipped with the day-to-day running of the department and attend management meetings in line with set standards.
- Conduct training needs assessment and organize training and development (capacity building) programs with heads of departments and R&D.
- Develop a communication strategy for any change and review the Administrative and HR policy and other relevant laws.
- Maintain and update all appropriate staff personnel files.
- Ensure all appropriate files and documentation related to legal and contractual matters are maintained.
- Administers the company’s vehicles, office supplies, equipment, and property.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and management.
- Manage procurement of goods and services.
- Assist the CEO in all office management matters (office layout, cleaning, security, phones, supplies, etc.)
- Manage external communication in consultation with the CEO (meeting coordination)
- 5+ years of HR direct experience as a generalist – Technology or Finance sector is a plus.
- Exposure to ERP or HRIS
- Advanced user of Google Spreadsheet
- Good communicator. Fluent English is required.
- HR Certifications are a plus.
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in HR, Management, or related fields of study. MBA is a plus.
