Director, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Department

Summary

·       The Director ESG will be responsible for developing and implementing the Bank’s ESG program, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and driving continuous improvement in our environmental, social, and governance practices. The Director, ESG Department will also be responsible for supporting Chief, Transformation Officer on a variety of projects related to Dashen Bank’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategies.

·         The Director is required to contribute insightful, outside-in thinking to enhance the competitive position of the Bank and maintain a pulse on the regulatory landscape and stakeholder’s expectations related to ESG.

Academic & Professional Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or business related discipline from a reputable university.
  • Professional qualification(s) e.g. ACCA, CPA, CFA or the equivalent is an added advantage.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental or
  • Social studies, Environmental Science, Sustainability Development Studies,   
  • Development Finance/ Economics, Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional qualification(s) in ESG an added advantage.

Experience

  • At least eleven (11) years’ of relevant experience with five (5) years in a middle managerial capacity.

Required Technical Competencies:

  • Strategy management – (Planning, Evaluating, Implementing, Monitoring and evaluation).
  •  Knowledge and experience in ESG practices to initiate and implement tactical changes.
  • Good understanding or experience of the fields of ESG.
  • Extensive use of project management approaches including setting project plans, budgets and schedules.
  • Experience developing linkages and dependencies between strategy and processes for inter-departmental activities and units and developing mechanisms to ensure integrated transformations.
  • Ability to review, interpret and make precise inferences from a wide range of business reports and data, including budgets, financial reports, business intelligence reports.
  • Budgeting and monitoring skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to lead, influence and drive change initiatives in support of business strategies within the department/unit.
