In collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) and other health sector partners, IHI has designed a fast-moving large-scale quality improvement (QI) initiative with the aim of accelerating the Ministry’s efforts to improve maternal and neonatal health (MNH) outcomes in Ethiopia. This initiative is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and has three core components:
Introduction
The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) is a leading innovator in health and health care improvement worldwide. For more than 30 years, we have partnered with visionaries, leaders, and front-line practitioners around the globe to spark bold, inventive ways to improve the health of individuals and populations. IHI Ethiopia works in partnership with the Ministry of Health – Ethiopia (MOH) in the design and implementation of a sustainable quality improvement (QI) approach, and in executing a demonstration of that approach in the critical priority area of maternal and newborn health outcomes.
Purpose of the Bid
The intent of this bid is to select competitive IT service provider for the IHI works in Ethiopia on a weekly regular basis or on call basis. All eligible IT service providers that qualify the minimum requirement expressed in this bid document are encouraged to apply
General Provisions
The IT infrastructure holds the following.
- A server room with 9U Rack and Power Edge R430 Rack Server with specifications, Intel, Xeon E5-2640 v4 2.4GHZ, 25M Cache, 8.0GT/s QPI, Turbo, HT 10C/20T (90W) Max Mem 2133MHZ
- Installed and configured Rack mountable APS UPS
- Installed and configured wired and wireless network for printer, internet, and related communication with the server
- Installed Air-conditioning system which includes assembled Carrier Air Conditioner 36000 PTU in the outside and inside of first floor of the building
- Installed office fixed line phone
Scope of Work
Infrastructure Renovation (Replacement/Installation)
- Installing Sisco 2960 24Port POE Switch
- Installing TP Link with router AC1900
- Installing TP Link CPE210 Access Point
A weekly regular supervision of IT infrastructure and equipment
- Provide remote and onsite support
- Remote server health checks
- Apply latest firmware updates as needed to address vulnerabilities
- Review end of life hardware and provide recommendations for upgrade/replacement
- Onsite server physical checks
- Backup monitoring and testing
- Active connection (Internet Network) monitoring
Laptop/Desktop health checks and user assistance.
- All laptops must be deployed using an enterprise image with core applications and must be onboarded to IHI Intune tenant
- Ensure laptops are fully patched on monthly basis
- Work closely with IHI IT director on new hardware and licensed software purchasing
- Must keep the laptops/applications inventory up to date at all time o Work closely with IHI IT director on policies and procedures implementation
- Maintain a log of all work completed including changes made on monthly basis
- Maintain image of system for restoration
- Repair and maintenance of IT infrastructure and equipment
Eligibility
- Bidders must hold a renewed trade license and IT related diplomas, degrees or certificates from a renowned institution
- Must have experience in network infrastructure installation and maintenance work
- Must have experience in providing IT related services on call basis or on a weekly basis
