Job brief

 A Legal Advisor, or Legal Consultant provides legal guidance to businesses or clients. Their primary duties include structuring solutions for disputes, providing support in legal issues and reviewing legal materials and contracts

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  •   Provide legal support to corporate management in all level.
  • Administer and update corporate shareholders’ interests, respond to shareholders request and support.
  • Draft Shareholders and board minute and follow-up all requirements and authenticate.
  • Ensure organizational legal matters are managed properly; efficiently the relevant stakeholders are shared and given proper advice and guidance.   
  • Proper handlings of court cases and participate and consult with outsourcing of court and relevant case handling. 
  • Draft, edit or review contracts and agreements and consult the management, work on contract management.
  • Providing, compiling and delivering evidence for cases.
  • Employ dispute resolution and Manage litigations.
  • Provide legal opinions as requested by various departments. 
  • Record board minutes and facilitate board meetings, follow-up the execution of board and GA decisions.
  • Serve as the representative of the company for legal affairs and respond to all legal requests.
  • Conduct high level meetings with executive management whenever required. 

 

Requirements and skills:

Applicants must have:

  • Undergraduate degree LLB or LLM in law with 3-5 years experience;
  •  Ability to identify and analyze complex issues/ problems/ in management areas, recommend and implement solutions.   
  • Meticulous nature and organizational skills;
  • A strong interest in corporate developments;
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite of products
  •  Strong communication and demonstrable communications skills, both in English and Amharic
  • Willingness to travel to business hubs and outside Addis Ababa when necessary;
  • Ability to work autonomously and remain self-motivated.
