Job Summary
The casual data collector will work under the Cordaid PBF program supporting the data team with quantitative and qualitative data collection. The data collector will also be required to conduct desk research and literature searches. The position is short term covering only the data collection period (1 – 31 July 2022) for a maximum of 25 working days.
Specific Responsibilities and Duties
- Quantitative and qualitative field data collection
- Literature searches.
- Desk research/reviews.
- Ensuring data completion and checking with supervisor for completion
- Taking verbatim notes for qualitative data to ensure gaps that might arise are addressed in case of technological failure
- Ensure the quality and integrity of data collected is of high standard;
- Perform any other duties assigned.
Qualification, Skills and Knowledge
- Masters degree in Public Health, specialising in Biostatistics, Epidemiology or Nutrition, or Masters in Health economics
- BSc nursing with 5 years’ experience in EPI can be considered.
- Experience in conducting research or primary data collection.
- Experience in DHS survey data collection is an added advantage.
- Experience in both data collection and supervision is an added advantage
- Ability to operate in English language: reading, writing, speaking and understanding
- Ability to operate in Oromoo language: reading, writing, speaking and understanding
Deliverables
- Electronic/Paper-based collected data;
- Desk review reports
- Any other tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor
