World Vision began its ministry in Ethiopia in the early 1970s and opened a national office in Addis Ababa in 1975. World Vision operated emergency response programmes during the 1984 famine, followed by a period of rehabilitation (1986-87) and a self-review that came up with the concept of Area Development Programmes (ADPs) as a model.
World Vision’s work in Ethiopia contributes to the well-being of vulnerable children in partnership with the church, civil society and the government. Initiatives include education, food security, health, HIV and AIDS, water, sanitation, and hygiene, as well as sponsorship management. All programmes are implemented with the goal of addressing the strategic and basic needs of children while supporting and building the capacity of families and communities.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate selection, registration and verification of beneficiary HHs to be addressed and submit the list in excel to integrated multisector project coordinator.
- Most vulnerable and affected HHs are fairly selected and verified for support
- Ensure project information is shared, complaints are managed correctly and feed backs are provided to the complaints, and beneficiary selection is validated by relevant stakeholders.
- Feedback of the target HHs collected and appropriate action is taken and accountability is ensured.
- Facilitate implementation of emergency livelihood project in the target woreda as per the detail implementation plan in alignment with donor and government requirements.
- Livelihood projects will be implemented as per the plan
- Prepare input distribution plan, facilitate the distribution, collect and document input distribution list and report to integrated multisector project coordinator.
- Inputs are distributed to the beneficiary on time participating partners at all level
- Facilitate training of agricultural extension agents and roll out of the training to targeted beneficiary together with agriculture office
- Extension agents are capacitated and provided extension service to targeted beneficiaries
- Monitor and collect data of project implementation regularly and report the progress and challenges and lessons learned to the integrated multisector project coordinator.
- Partners and leadership at different level will be aware of the situation.
KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
Required Professional Experience
- 3 years’ and above experience in livelihood project implementation and/or emergency response
- NGO experience is preferable.
- Knowledge and experience of emergency response is an advantage.
- Grass root work experience in development projects management, emergency response, especially in hardship environment.
- Experience of working in the work location is a plus
Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification
- Minimum BSc/BA in the fields of Agriculture, Rural Development and related field of study.
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
- Intensive skills of working on MS-word and MS-excel
- Experience of supervising emergency projects
- Analytical skills of field data recording, good report writing and presentation
Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement
- The position requires ability and willingness to travel to different hardship areas/woredas
Language Requirements
- Effective in written and verbal communication in English
