Positive action for Development (PAD) is an Ethiopian resident’s civil Society organization with active registration status at Federal Level. The organization initially licensed at Ethiopian Federal Democratic Charities and Societies agency on June 6/2011 with a registration number 2330.  The organization has also been re-registered and accorded legal personality with registry number 2330 on May 22, 2019 as Local Organization in accordance with the civil society organization proclamation No. 1113/2019.

Background

Positive action for Development (PAD) is an indigenous, non-governmental, humanitarian and development organization and legally registered at Federal level by Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Charities and Societies agency on June 6/2011 with a registration number 2330. The organization has also been re-registered and accorded legal personality with registry number 2330 on May 22, 2019 as Local Organization in accordance with the civil society Organization proclamation No. 1113/2019. PAD would like to hire qualified professional for the following position. 

Overall Responsibilities

  • Line management of shelter/CCCM project field staff
  • Adherence to PAD policies, guidance and procedures and awareness of CCCM global and regional strategies
  • Contribute to shelter/CCCM strategy development, project proposals and provide input on needs and gaps, considering where appropriate the role of cash-based interventions and market based programmes
  • Manage and implement delegated portfolio of shelter/CCCM projects (activities, budget and project documentation) as delegated from ED in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements, and ensure high technical quality
  • Provide regular progress reports to his/her immediate supervisor
  • Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and asses new and better ways to assist
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the activities
  • Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills
  • Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders
  • Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy

Specific Responsibilities Include The Following:

  • Projects Design and Planning: To ensure minimum standards of technical quality in all activities and interventions, which are technically appropriate, realistic, in line with project specific objectives and on budget.
  • Project Cycle Management (PCM), Monitoring and Reporting: Manage and monitor project finance and budget; maintain strong control on budgets ensuring spending within available resources and in compliance with donor grant management guidelines. Provide supportive supervision to the team to ensure the implementation of timely and high quality Shelter/CCCM activities in the area.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with other Shelter stakeholders, other INGOs implementing projects in the region for integrated programming and avoidance of duplication. In close collaboration with M&E Officer, ensures that lessons learnt and success stories from the programme are effectively documented and shared;
  • Strategy development: Responsible for supporting high quality Area Office-level input into Response (country-level) Shelter/CCCCM programme development initiatives (e.g. Core Competency Strategies).
  • Project M&E: responsible for accurate and high quality Monitoring and Evaluation of NRC shelter/CCCM program or related activities, including information management and archiving.
  • Capacity building: responsible for supporting the successful capacity building of PAD shelter/CCCM staff along with related interventions trainings and work with PM to ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills
  • Perform other related duties as requested by his/her immediate supervisor

Duty Station: Wag-hamra Zone and or North Wollo of Amhara Regional State  

Qualification

  • BA/MSc Degree and above in Management, phycology, sociology, social work and other related field of study

Experience

  •  At least 4 years relevant experience of which 4 years at managerial position
