The Center for innovative Drug Development and Therapeutic Trials for Africa (CDT-Africa) is a semi-autonomous, World Bank supported regional center of excellence for education and research.

Support equitable access to interventions (Medicines, vaccines, diagnostics and other interventions) and bring about sustainable development in Africa through high quality capacity development for novel therapeutic discoveries supported by clinical trials.

Assignment Title: International Accreditation of Master’s in Clinical Trials programme

The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Africa Higher Education Center of Excellence, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for CDT-Africa International Accreditation of Master’s in Clinical Trials programme

The accreditation of this program will help recognize and acknowledge the value of transforming a student of this program into a capable professional with sound knowledge of fundamentals and an acceptable level of competence in regard to Clinical Trials. The accreditation process is also significant as a means of promoting quality of the program.

The CDT-Africa now invites eligible consulting firms (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The shortlisting criteria are: Core business and years in business; qualifications in the field of the assignment; technical and managerial organization of the firm; and general qualifications and number of key staff.  In addition the consulting firm must meet the following qualifications and experience: Registered legally to provide international accreditation programs, accredited and recognized internationally and has experienced in working in accrediting post graduate Master’s program especially in health science.

The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank  Borrowers, January 2011  (“Consultant Guidelines”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.

Consultants may associate with other firms in the form of a joint venture or a sub consultancy to enhance their qualifications.

A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the least cost selection method set out in the Consultant Guidelines.
