About the position
We are looking for an experienced front-end software developer with additional skills in UI/UX design.
Roles and responsibilities
- Work with development teams and product managers to ideate software solutions
- Design client-side and server-side architecture
- Build the front-end of applications through appealing visual design
- Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications
- Write effective APIs
- Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
- Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
- Build features and applications with a mobile responsive design
- Write technical documentation
Reports to: It team lead
Place of work: Addis Ababa with possible fieldwork
Number required: Two

Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a recognized university in any of the following disciplines: computer science, computer engineering, Information technology, health informatics, and other related fields.
- Frontend
- Willingness to learn and to be coached by consultants
Preferred qualifications and skills
- Minimum of 3 years work experience
- Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role
- Familiarity with common stacks, Preferably MERN stack
- Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries i.e. HTML5/ CSS, JavaScript, JavaScript frameworks and libraries (e.g. Node, Angular, React, Vue Js) preferably React and Anguar Js
- Expert in UI/UX design and prototyping tools like Figma, XD,
- Expert in at least one backend framework like Laravel, Django preferably Node Js
- Proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer/ engineer or similar role for both websites and mobile applications
- Portfolio of previous projects (Preferable if used or deployed)
- Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache)
- Familiarity with Git version control
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Familiar with agile development and DevOps Experience with Open-Source platforms/frameworks/systems such as Linux, Apache frameworks, MySQL and PostgreSQL is a plus.
