World Vision began its ministry in Ethiopia in the early 1970s and opened a national office in Addis Ababa in 1975. World Vision operated emergency response programmes during the 1984 famine, followed by a period of rehabilitation (1986-87) and a self-review that came up with the concept of Area Development Programmes (ADPs) as a model.
World Vision’s work in Ethiopia contributes to the well-being of vulnerable children in partnership with the church, civil society and the government. Initiatives include education, food security, health, HIV and AIDS, water, sanitation, and hygiene, as well as sponsorship management. All programmes are implemented with the goal of addressing the strategic and basic needs of children while supporting and building the capacity of families and communities.

- Lead the identification of respective area women centered and climate smart value chain commodities based on Logic Model (LM) with project staff and WVC MAEL, IP, field staff and other relevel WVE staff
- Process development, positioning, business development
- She/he will identify, define, prioritize and oversee delivery of RESILIENT WE value chain commodity cycle implementation centering empowering women & girls;
- Women centered and climate smart value chain commodity of RE project site areas identified based on value chain commodity principle
- Lead the identification of respective area women centered and climate smart financial inclusion and marketing and its link with value chain commodities and other technology marketing based on Logic Model (LM) with project staff and WVC MAEL, IP, field staff and other relevel WVE staff
- Work alongside colleagues & MFIs as a financial inclusion specialist to develop effective strategies for advancing program participants’ access to both informal and formal financial services, including women, youth, and other target groups
- Women centered and climate smart financial inclusion and fair marketing operationalized towards empowering woman and girls economic empowerment
- Lead the preparation of comprehensive women & girl centered value chain plan in closely working with the Project Director , WVC based experts, NEWA, key program staff, and implementing partners focusing empowering women & girls; and develop indicators for monitoring performance as well as the status of direct beneficiaries and also day-to-day activities implementation through providing guidance & template based on overarching Logic Model
- Comprehensive plan per each site developed, compiled and operationalizing backstopped
- Lead the capacity gap analysis, capacity strengthening of the business groups of farmers organizations (FOs), Village level saving and loan groups, Rural Saving and Credit Association, stakeholder meeting facilitation, and training facilitation, facilitates market information flow, facilitate development of business plan of business groups and FOs , undertake local market assessment, follow-up on community action plans, and technical guidance to project staff, partners and community during project implementation as well as give full account of the project in terms feedback and reports to Project partners and his/her supervisor
- Capacity gap of project staff, partners, stakeholders and CBOs identified and worked out towards enhanced capacity of actors
- Develop technical resources including guides, case studies and other learning tools to strengthen capacity in financial inclusion;
- Responsible for contributing to the appraisal of capacity building needs related to the development, competitiveness, inclusiveness and improved impacts of agri/none-business and value chain development;
- Ensure AP & Non-AP Gender Sensitive Value Chain, Financial Inclusion Marketing officers, NEWA staff and stakeholders through providing training, field monitoring and creating cross learning platforms
- Project team and stakeholders towards empowering women and girls economically
- Ensure RESILIENT WE scaling principles such as co-learning, cost effectiveness, inclusiveness, climate smart, sustainability and scalability mainstreamed in to day to day project rolling out
- Monitors project progress of Value Chain, Finance Inclusion & Marketing related activities through field visits and meetings with partners and beneficiaries, and review of staff reports and provide constructive feedback to partners and project staff;
- Increased effectiveness and sustainability
- Ensure officers facilitating market linkage to selected value chain commodities and other commodities that are produced in the target woreda/s and nearby producers using different market linkage approaches to enable smallholder producers and other value chain actors. In doing so periodic market assessment, regular marketing information flow and access are among the main tasks required by the jobholder/s/
- Ensure at each area workable financial linkage strategy to marketing groups and FOs/CBOs/FBOs identified according to their socio-economic status to engage in different financial linkages such as saving groups, saving and credit association or link to formal financial institutions
- Build and maintain effective communications and pro-active relationships with partners at the regions, including visits by donors

- Works closely with the MEAL & KM Advisor to assist partners in the design and implementation of baseline data collection, studies and surveys for planning, monitoring and evaluation of projects

- Ensure the documentation of successful practices, publications, development of presentations and technical documents and opportunities for reflection within the organization as well as outside the organization
- Evidence data collected, analyzed, shared and documented
- Read the RESILIENT WE Proposal & its Logic Model (LM), extract impacts, outcomes, outputs & activities and understand expected from Value chain & marketing advisor
- Produce draft major areas of the sub0sector & discuss with HO level RESILIENT WE and other concerned staff

At least 6 years working experience in leading agricultural value chain, finance inclusion & marketing or at least two of the thematic areas of complex integrated project
- Must have a clear understanding of major donors’ perspectives, requirements and standards
- Must have proven analytical/ problem solving abilities
- Experiences in excel management
- University degree preferably M.Sc in agricultural value chain, rural development value chain, financial inclusion and related field of study
- Training and knowledge in agricultural value chain, finance inclusion & marketing
- Excellent interpersonal skills – builds good relationships with internal and external stakeholders and maintain effective collaboration with all staff
- Excellent skill in producing quality & timely report
- Appropriate skills and experience in the capacity building and training of staff and partners;
- Rich experience in handling productive meeting

- Verifiable proven research experience in agricultural value chain, finance inclusion & marketing Training in publication & developing story Good knowledge of oral and written English language
