The Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI) was founded in 1970 through the initiative of the Norwegian and Swedish Save the Children organizations seconded by the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia. The Institute got its name from the Norwegian physician, Gerhard Henrik Armauer Hansen, who first described the leprosy bacillus (Mycobacterium leprae). AHRI is a biomedical research institute that works in developing tools for prevention, control and treatment of mycobacterium and other diseases of public healthy importance through applied and basic biomedical research and training.

The malaria and neglected tropical disease (MNTD) directorate in AHRI run several projects in collaboration with local and international organizations. To facilitate the bridging of the directorate with the procurement, import, export, finance and laboratory supplies logistics management, the MNTD would like to hire qualified candidate in the position of junior researcher for the projects within the malaria team.
Key Duties and responsibilities
· Bridge the PI and the project management and laboratory team with the finance and procurement teams of AHRI.
· Prepare and manage inventory list
· Support field research team with supplies organization and transportation
· Prepare procurement list for local and international purchase
· Manage, track and report the projects budget in MNTD directorate with project managers and coordinators
· Follow progress of supplies procurement
· Prepare, apply and follow pre-import and export permits and customs clearance procedures
· Prepare and process per diem and other payments to the MNTD projects field staff in collaboration with project managers and coordinators
· Respond to any assignment given by the project PIs, managers and coordinators
· Support the laboratory team on assigned tasks in the laboratory
Required Qualification & Experiences:
· BA Degree in laboratory and other biological sciences
Experiences:
· Experiences in accounting and/or financial management is an advantage
· Basic knowledge of different data management software and Microsoft applications
· Experience using computers and various applications for a variety of tasks
Other Competencies
· Competency in Microsoft applications including Word and Excel
· Fluency in English communication (spoken & written)
· Prior experience with donor-funded projects; willingness to be multi-tasked in admin, finance, and logistics; and willingness to take up out of office tasks
