Bright Future Ethiopia Development and Charity Association (BFE) is a young local NGO Establish in 2016(G.C) striving to expand while focusing on the unreached section of the community. Bright Future Ethiopia is looking for a competent and able part time accountant that meets the requirements stated below. The competent should have proven experience in the area financial management and must excellent in Peachtree.
Major roles and Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting transactions
- Publish financial statements in time
- Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Ensure timely bank payments
- Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
- Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity
- Audit financial transactions and documents
- Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
- Handles petty cash and replenish on monthly basis, and performs daily Cash Balance on excel
- Makes payments of personal income tax, Withholding taxes, pensions and provident fund on time to the local government monthly
- Prepare payroll and make payment to staff through bank
- Respond to queries of head office, donors, finance department timely, and consult on any financial matters,
- Adhere to finance to finance management policies and procedures of BFE, WD and Government
- Keep and maintain finance file properly, and submit to concerned offices department monthly and as required
- Ensure advance to works to staffs are timely settled as per BFE finance management policies
- Maintain proper financial records on computer and filing of all relevant paperwork
- Provide support for field staffs in capacity building financial management and Peachtree managements
- Submit and reconcile expense reports
- Verifies that journal entries agree with the details of source document entries;
- Journalizes financial transactions, inspects entries of accounts for clerical errors
- Can process tax payment online to Ethiopian tax authority
- Prepare withholding tax receipt
- Prepare monthly withholding tax report
- Prepared annual, biannual, quarterly and monthly cash flows and Update excel for daily cash inflow and outflow balance in bank accounts
- Post transactions to Peachtree
- Performs other accounting and financial related duties as required by the immediate supervisor
- Knowledge of Peachtree would be an asset
Number of position:1(one)
Duration: Nine months with possibility of extension
Duty station: Addis Ababa with travel to the Existing and New project sites
Educational Qualification and Experience
- BA degree in Accounting, Finance or other accounting and finance related fields with minimum of 1 years of work experience.
- Candidates with zero years of experiences but having exposures for the accounting and finance in different opportunities will be considered.
Skills Specific to the Post
- Knowledge of Peachtree is an asset.
- Good Oral and written English communication skills

- Excellent computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Offices
