Habesha Breweries S.C. is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager with a managerial level role as per the Company’s job grading duty station being in Debre Brihan
The Role Summary:
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for coordinating, leading, and organizing of the quality system of the brewery, ensuring the maintenance and improvement quality of product, process and raw materials at all stages with optimal cost
Basic Duty and Responsibility
1. Maintain quality product
· Investigate and manage the customer complaint process
· Collaborate with all departments in the brewery to ensure & meet quality standards
· Establish and implement procedures to improve quality and reduce operating cost.
· Devise plant manager to make decisions when a product does not meet quality standards.
· Provide feedback on materials and preferences based on practical experience.
· Obtain feedback from Customer Services on products performance.
2. Initiate & implement quality system
· Develop and strategic plans for company-wide quality initiatives
· Drive quality metrics within the company utilizing continuous improvement tools and strategies.
· Advise brewery employees and management to quality risks and engage in mitigation and action plans to prevent future risks.
· Make sure availability of all necessary quality systems specification likeHACCP, QMS etc.
3. Incoming material inspection
· Develop incoming material quality checking system
· Raw material and aids check for brewing to ensure that they are within specification both locally and imported
· Compile daily, weekly, and periodic technical reports and organize chart room meetings.
· Analyze and discuss reports with stake holders at chart room meetings.
· Carry out daily FPS stock-taking with warehouse team and ensure FIFO is strictly adhered to
4. Environmental/Waste Management & Liaising with regulatory agencies
· Ensure compliance of wastewater treatment plant.
· Monitor disposal of recycled and non-recycled wastes
· Monitor and coordinate visits of environmental authorities
· Provide information on environmental audit reports, Environmental Impact assessment report and Environmental Management plan information
· Prepare annual environmental report
· Coordinates monitoring visits, meetings, or audits by regulatory agencies within the country.
· Conducts and coordinates both internal and external audits. These include Process, Suppliers, HACCP and QMS audits when the time is due
This role is positioned at the managerial level and requires an experienced Quality Assurance Manager, who will have the opportunity to develop their career further within a very progressive learning and development as well as a dynamic and exciting work atmosphere.
Required to have a BSC degree in, Food Processing Engineering/ Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or related natural science disciplines), 7 + years of relevant experience of which 2 years are spent in a managerial position in the FMCG industry.
