JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITILE: Project Assistant
REPORTS TO: FGAE Clinic Coordinators
LOCATION: Kombolcha and Samara-Logia
Background
The Family Guidance Association of Ethiopia (FGAE) in partnership with Amref Health Africa implements a USAID funded Integrated Youth Activity (Kefeta) in Dessie, Kombolcha and Samara-Logia cities. Kefeta envisions Ethiopian youth who are game changers: empowered to advance their own economic, civic, and social development; resilient in the face of shocks; actively promoting development within their communities and contributing to the country’s peace and prosperity. Kefeta will strengthen the youth ecosystem in Ethiopia with integrated, multi-sectoral, youth-centered programming aligned with the Positive Youth Development (PYD) approach.
JOB SUMMARY
FGAE is seeking a Project Assistant to support implementation of its Integrated Youth Activity. The Assistant will provide programmatic and administrative support to the implementation. The candidate will coordinate with other staff members to implement the project, liaise with other stakeholders to facilitate implementation, coordinate trainings, workshops & meetings, assist in developing key program documents.
1. Duties & Responsibilities
Program Support:
· Coordinating with each program and operations team on expected deliverables and support activities implementation;
· Providing support to the team in facilitating city level project activities;
· Coordinating day-to-day operations of the project at city level and communicating with Clinic Coordinator and Cluster Manger;
· Working closely with the relevant stakeholders in the implementation of Kefeta Project;
· Supporting the IYA project management in planning and work plan development;
· Supporting Youth Coalition and the youth hub to deliver quality services;
· Providing technical support, including organizing workshops and meetings;
· participating and supporting monitoring & evaluation activities; and
· Supporting preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
Administrative Tasks
· Plan and coordinate meetings, and document action items/next steps;
· Liaise with procurement department to facilitate procurement of program-related items;
· General administrative tasks, including filing, maintaining documents, updating presentations, and setting appointments;
· Perform other duties as assigned.
2. Qualifications & Experience
- BA degree in social sciences with at least three year experience;
- Enthusiastic in working collaboratively with the team;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in Amharic and English. Writing and speaking skills of additional local language is a plus, particularly in Afar;
- Good knowledge and understanding of project cycle management;
- Able to manage and organize responsibilities by establishing priorities.
- Ability to handle assignments under time constraints.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to learn quickly.
3. Technical and other skills
· Ability to facilitate and encourage collaborative teamwork, experience sharing, effective problem solving and conflict resolution;
· Ability to identify and propose solutions and innovative strategies;
· Proficiency in computer (Word processing, Excel; PowerPoint, other social Medias ;
· Excellent written and verbal communication in English;
· Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, and participatory approach and sustainable development.

At least three years of relevant working experience after graduation.
