Background
The US Presidents malaria initiative (PMI), strengthening malaria monitoring and evaluation systems (SMMES) project is funded by USAID/PMI. The project is seeking an experienced senior data analyst to assist in data analysis for a cluster randomized study (tMDA/RCD) comparing the effect of alternative strategies on reduction of malaria incidence in East Harerghe zone, Ethiopia. The study has completed data collection. The analysis and report writing have to be completed before May 1, 2022.
Scope of Work:
The work expected to be done by the consultant includes the following:
- Conduct data analysis based on the specific objectives and the statistical plan of the study.
- Assist in writing report based on the statistical analysis.
- The consultant will have a physical presence at Addis Continental Institute of Public Health (ACIPH) at least three days a week to closely work with the PMI/SMMES team.
- Work under the guidance of the PMI/SMMES senior monitoring and evaluation advisor and the project technical manager in drafting the final report of the study before or at April 15, 2022
Deliverable:
The consultant will start the activity within two days of signing the contract. The consultant is required to provide the following deliverables in approximately 2 months’ time.
- Complete the data analysis and produce final report of the study
Remuneration:
The renumeration shall be as per the scale of the organization for a senior consultant. All relevant government tax and duty are applicable.
Needed qualifications and qualities
- PhD level training in public health or related field
- Demonstrable knowledge and skill in statistical software, like STATA, etc. which can be demonstrated by work experience, recommendations, etc.
- Commanding knowledge and experience in data analysis and report writing, which can be demonstrated by relevant written documents, like recommendations, work history, etc.
- More than average English language proficiency
