If you have a strong academic record, can demonstrate outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills and are keen to put your intellect, curiosity and enthusiasm to the test in a high-pressure, client-driven environment, we would like to hear from you. As a business development manager, you’ll identify new business opportunities in order to generate revenue, improve profitability and help the business grow. Your specific responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following;

  • Researching and identifying new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services – or new ways of reaching existing markets
  • Contacting potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings.
  • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives.
  • Increasing the value of existing customers while attracting new ones.
  • Finding and developing new markets and improving sales.
  • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events where appropriate.
  • Developing quotes and proposals for clients.
  • Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills.
  • Fostering and developing relationships with customers/clients
  • Seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business
  • Seeking ways of improving the way the business operates
  • Keeping abreast of trends and changes in the business world.
  • Developing proposals for new business opportunities or amending existing ones for similar businesses from sales.
  • Collaborating with immediate supervisor in planning and implementing business development strategies and lead identification.
  • Overseeing the sales and business development process at each stage from initial contact, closing and follow up
  • Building productive relationship with clients and partners.
  • Participating in trade shows, conferences, and events to help promote the business and partners
  • Investigating and troubleshoot customer service issues
  • Generating monthly sales forecasts and budgets
  • Ensuring all contact information is accurate and maintained updated
  • Performing other related duties assigned by immediate supervisor
  • Master’s degree in marketing management, business management or related fields with CGPA of 2.8 and above in both undergraduate and graduate programs.
  • Excellent Interpersonal, Communication (verbal and written) & presentation skills
  • At least two years experience in business development, sales, marketing or related field.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proactive, and able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and other applications/software.
  • Comfortable using a computer for various tasks.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data management skills
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio etc.)
  • Fluency in both English and Amharic is required.
  • Knowledge or experience in research and consultancy is a plus.
